KŌEN & SALT
Tokyo, Japan & Seoul, South Korea | 2025-2026

This screening presents video works that explore how visual culture impacts and intervenes in the reconstruction of personal and collective memories, more specifically through negotiations of bodies in public and digital spaces. In these videos, performance itself is suggested as a tool for de-coding how the body is read in public space - from the perspective of protests, personal histories, consumer rituals, and pop culture classics. Through works that employ methods of public performance, digital interventions, and video re-enactments, the artists explore the role mediated images, videos, and digital tools play in metabolizing and distorting memories, in reimagining that which is familiar.
